DLN Consulting, Inc. Coordinates 4th Annual Alcohol Forum
On February 21st - 22nd, 2007, DLN Consulting, Inc., working closely with Sandy Wilson, North Dakota Department of Transportation, Office of Traffic Safety, Alcohol Program Manager, coordinated the North Dakota Office of Traffic Safety 4th Annual Alcohol Forum. The theme "Building Bridges for a Better Future" brought campuses, communities, and law enforcement together. CEU's were available for licensed Social Workers, Law Enforcement POST credits, and licensed addiction counselors.
Seven Educational presentations were scheduled during the two-day conference:
- Where do we go from here?: Carl McDonald, National law enforcement initiative coordinator for MADD
- NHTSA Regional and National Updates: Bill Watada, Director, NHTSA Rocky Mountain Region
- Campus and Community:Partners in Change: Dr. Margaret Barr, Vice President, Student Affairs at Northwestern University
- North Dakota Legislative Updates: Keith Magnusson, Deputy Director Driver and Vehicle Services, North Dakota Department of Transportation
- North Dakota Core College Survey: Dr. Karin Walton, Director, North Dakota Higher Education Consortium for Substance Abuse Prevention
- What can a TSRP do for you?: Aaron Birst, Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor, North Dakota Department of Transportation
- Establishing and Operating an effective Traffic Safety Program: Sheriff John Whetsel, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma
*8 Hot Topics discussions were also available to participants. Hot Topics were group discussions facilitated by an expert in the area being discussed. The group interacts with each other exchanging ideas, best practices, and procedures and programs that work.
