International Exchange Student Interns at               DLN Consulting, Inc.

Xuan Hu "Claire" was born and raised in China.  She lives with her parents in Changsha, Hunan.  Claire is very close with her family.  Her mother is a doctor who specializes in CT scanning and diagnosis.  Her father, also a doctor, focuses on the study and treatment of cardiology.  Claire's sister is married and lives with her husband and their 7-year-old daughter in Shanghai.

Claire attended college in Beijing where she met many people who had studied and worked abroad.  She was inspired by their broad vision and expertise in various areas.  She also made friends with some students from the United States.  These experiences influenced Claire to want to come to the United States to study.  She was very excited to learn that her Chinese university, The Central University for Nationalities, and Dickinson State University had an exchange program.  With her parents' support, she signed up for the exchange program.

Claire is majoring in Business Administration at Dickinson State University.  She enjoys all of her business classes and looks forward to reaching her goal, which is to become a businesswoman and one day have her own business.  Claire will return home to finish her final year of college.  Upon completion, she will have a degree in Business Administration from The Central University for Nationalities and from Dickinson State University.  She then plans to apply to a graduate school in the United States.

Claire began her internship at DLN Consulting, Inc. in April and will complete it in June.  During her internship, Claire has had the opportunity to learn many things and to become familiar with a multitasking office environment.  About the experience, Claire says, "I am excited that I have the opportunity to work here.  I am able to meet many excellent people and learn a lot of real world experience."

Claire likes the United States.  She visited the west coast (California and Oregon) and was impressed by the beauty and coastal views, and she thinks spring in Dickinson is lovely.  Claire wishes Dickinson had a public transportation system, but she really enjoys Dickinson because it is calm and free from the crowd of big cities.  "The environment here is very nice," says Claire.  "People here are friendly and quick to help."

Claire began to like country music after she came here.  Her favorite singers are Carrie Underwood and Toby Keith.  She also likes the band Evanescence a lot.  Claire says she has learned a lot during her stay in the United States.  "I am so excited about learning new things," she says.  "I have the feeling that every day here is a new day for me, and there will be a lot for me to discover every day.
